MEET ERIN
Bringing public service back to politics
Erin has had a lengthy career as a Project Management Institute trained project manager in the tech/software industry and has worked and talked at conferences internationally. She moved back to Canada in 2016 after working at Apple iCloud, and Strobe (acquired by FaceBook, now Meta) in San Francisco. Prior to this, she worked in Vancouver at a digital agency called Blastradius, project managing Electronic Arts game websites (Madden, NCAA, Need for Speed, Simpsons Game and more). She also worked as the Director of Web Development, running teams in three countries for a very successful online game company called MindSpan Technologies and has lived in Costa Rica. She moved into tech from film and tv production after attending York University. You might have seen a show she was on crew and camera for called Exploring Horizons on the Outdoor Life Network in the late 90's.
Erin is an industrious small business owner who runs two businesses (a portrait photography company and a food tech hybrid startup) and employs contractors in Guelph. She is active in the community and a member of the Accessibility Advisory Council of Guelph as well as a volunteer on the Guelph Neighbourhood Support Coalition data and performance team. As the founder and Chair the Environmental Sensitivities Coalition of Canada, she runs a team of dedicated volunteer advocates that works to help people with disabilities like asthma, autism, allergies and chemical sensitivities get accommodations via creating and influencing accessibility policies.
Currently Erin is a home owner in Guelph and lives with her amazing eleven year old daughter, her adorable dog Dandy, and her cat Cloak in the North East of the city. Erin adores gardening and has created a pollinator friendly food garden. Erin and her daughter love to cycle on the North Guelph trails. If you see them on their trikes, please say hello. If you're lucky, they'll even have Dandy with them on the way to one of the amazing playgrounds in Ward 1.
